First Penance

First Penance Registration(included in the First Penance/First Communion Registration Packet)
*Note: Proof of Baptism or Profession of Faith in the Catholic Church is required before your child can receive First Penance. If your child was not baptized at Holy Angels please make sure we have a copy of his/her baptismal certificate on file. This registration packet will be distributed to the students and parents at the mandatory parent meeting on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 9:30am in the parish hall.  The 1st Penance registration form is due in the parish office by October 1st.

Your child must have completed religious education in a catholic parish or school for the previous school year before being eligible to begin any sacramental class at Holy Angels.

Important First Penance Dates for 2016-2017
1st Penance parents’ meeting- Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the parish hall.  At least one parent of each child attending 1st Penance preparation is required to attend this meeting.
1st Penance Registration form due - October 1st
1st Penance Classes - 9:30am-10:30am on Oct. 23rd, Oct. 30th, Nov. 6th, Nov. 13th, 
Celebration of First Penance - Monday, November 14, 2016 at 5:30pm.  
 

First Communion


First Communion Registration (included in the First Penance/First Communion Registration Packet)

If your child was not baptized at Holy Angels please make sure we have a copy of his/her baptismal certificate on file.  This registration packet will be distributed to the students and parents at the mandatory parent meeting on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 9:30am in the parish hall.  The 1st Communion registration form is due in the parish office by January 5th.

1st Communion Banner Breakfast - Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 9:30am-10:30am in the parish hall.
Celebration of 1st Communion - Saturday, April 29, 2017.  Practice at 9:30am.  Mass at 10:30am.

Baptism
A preparation class is required of the parents requesting Baptism for their first child. Parents and godparents are encouraged to attend the class before the baby’s birth. Baptismal preparation classes are scheduled as needed.  

Confirmation

Holy Angels will confirm students in at least the 8th grade who have completed the requirements for Confirmation in our PRE program as well as all Diocesan requirements for Confirmation. All students in Confirmation Preparation (7th -8th grade) are required to follow the parish attendance policy, complete all class work required by the catechist, and complete required service hours. Final year confirmation students are also required to attend the Confirmation Commitment Mass, the Confirmation Retreat, successfully complete the Confirmation Exit Interview,  return all Confirmation forms completed and live daily the promises in the Contract of Intent.

2016-2017 Confirmation Register Packet  (included in this registration packet is the Contract of Intent, Confirmation Register Information Form, and the Sponsor Form).  These forms will be distributed to the students and parents at the mandatory parent meeting on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 9:30am in the parish hall.  These forms are due in the parish office by December 1st.

Confirmation 7th & 8th Parent/Student Meeting - Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the parish hall. At least one parent of each child attending 7th & 8th grade is required to attend this meeting
Confirmation Commitment Mass - April 23, 2017 at the 10:45am Mass
Confirmation Retreat - TBA
Confirmation in the Jackson Deanery - TBA
 
2016-2017 Service Hour Report Form
                15 Service Hours are required of the 7th (due in the parish office by May 1st)
                20 Service Hours are required of the 8th grade (due in the parish office by April 1st)

Matrimony
The couple planning to marry should contact the Pastor at least 5 months prior to the proposed date so all parish and diocesan requirements may be completed.

Holy Orders
If you feel called to a vocation in the Priesthood or religious life, or would like to talk about the possibility, please contact the Pastor.

Anointing of the Sick
If you wish to receive this sacrament, contact the Pastor. If there is an emergency situation, an immediate family member should contact the pastor.
